You can’t escape the gingham trend this Spring. The gingham trend seems to be most popular during this season. Even though gingham is popular in Spring, I think this chic print transcends all seasons. When I think of gingham, I usually think of a white and blue print, usually on a fresh Spring dress. But like all trends, the gingham trend can transition easily in to the warmer days of Summer and even into Fall and Winter.
The Gingham Trend
The gingham print is a checked or plaid print, usually in blue and white, but can also come in a variety of colors. This print can be red and white, yellow and white, green and white, pink and white- you name it. The gingham print can also be found in any kind of clothing. This include scarves, blouses and bottoms.
What I love about the gingham trend is how easy it is to incorporate into any outfit. The classic gingham dress paired with simple stilettos is feminine, chic and timeless. You can pair a gingham top with a pair of distressed denim shorts and sandals for a simple, day at the park kind of look. You can also wear a gingham printed pants with a sexy blouse for a happy hour date with the girls. The gingham trend is pretty much limitless, going from day to night with ease. Even though gingham is synonymous with Spring, the gingham trend is just as fitted for Summer. If done with care, gingham can also be stylish in Fall and Winter.
For my gingham trend outfit of the day, I am wearing a blouse with the classic blue and white gingham print. This top is from Target. My black skinny jeans are from Abercrombie and Fitch. I paired this look with strappy heels and a black purse by Sam Edelman. My necklace is my current fave accessory from Forever21. I usually like to have inexpensive trendy pieces, like this gingham print top and gold choker necklace. This way, when I switch them up, I won’t feel so terrible letting them go.
