If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that one of my favorite places to visit is Malibu. Malibu is a city west of Los Angeles, with beautiful quiet beaches like Zuma Beach. My family and I usually go to a hidden spot off a secluded neighborhood, with direct access to the water. When we first started going to this area, it was fairly quiet and empty, however, as the years passed, more and more people have shown up. Probably because the parking is quite plenty, it’s free, and you literally walk down a sloping, sandy hill to get the ocean. There are also plenty of paid parking lots with direct access to the beach, which you can find driving down the Pacific Coast Highway.
If you want to stop for a cute little lunch or snack, make sure you stop by the Malibu Mart, which is quite popular and trendy- with a lot of celebrities frequenting this place. There is a small but well maintained play area for the kiddos, with sand and a play structure. There are also plenty of boutique stores (though some are quite pricey), coffee shops, smoothie stores, and cafes. We usually frequent John’s Garden because we like to grab a few scrumptious sandwiches, fresh squeezed juices, and some organic potato chips to take for a picnic at the beach. If you want to catch a movie, there is also a movie theater in Malibu Mart. We also like to stop by at CVS or Ralphs along the Pacific Coast Highway to pick up some sun essentials like a beach mat, sunscreen, or a set of sand toys. Naturally, these products are hard to find at regular CVS or Ralphs, however, at these locations, you will find every beach items you could possibly need, even during off season. The best part is, they are not too expensive.
