Ever since my first kiddo was born, we have frequented Disneyland. Located about 25 miles from Los Angeles, this popular theme park destination is one of our favorites. Two years ago, we moved to the valley, and with traffic, our once 40 minute drive to Disneyland has now become an hour and half to 2 hours.
Instead of driving those hours back and forth, my kiddos and I just pick a hotel to stay at for the night. So today, I wanted to share my experience with you and give information about hotels near Disneyland.
The Disney Experience
If you want the ultimate hotel experience when it comes to Disneyland, the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is the one for you. This hotel is located in Downtown Disney, with direct access to California Adventure and Downtown Disney. We stayed here in a 3 bedroom villa, and though it was not cheap, I wouldn’t call it luxurious. I think the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is very expensive in terms of room quality, however, the convenience of direct access to the park and proximity to Disneyland might be worth it. You don’t have to drive at all and you can go back and forth to your room for a rest.
We also stayed at hotels by the Convention Center, a mile away from the theme parks. The hotels there such as Hilton and Marriot were cheaper than the Grand Californian but also not luxurious. These hotels near Disneyland are old and I personally did not like them. We have stayed there for the convenience of the short drive and affordable rate, but it was not enjoyable. I realized I would rather drive out 10 or so miles from Disneyland to stay at a newer or more luxurious hotel for a little bit more money.
If you are willing to drive about 10 miles away from Disneyland, you can choose hotels near Disneyland in Huntington Beach or Irvine. I highly recommend Pasea Hotel and Spa, which is right across from the beach. In a short walk, you can easily go to the beach or the shopping center right next door. Disneyland is also not too far, which makes it a perfect hotel for a family trip.
So what do you think of these hotels near Disneyland?
