Poshmark Poshmark

I am currently cleaning out my closet and posting pieces, like this blue top with scallop hem and abstract print shorts, on Poshmark.  Have you heard of this app?  Poshmark is where you can sell items from your closet.  I had this app for a while, but only used it to sell two items.  But now that I’m done with school, I have more time to post on these kinds of apps, instead of just straight donating my clothes. There is also higher motivation to get rid of older clothes with the possibility of getting money for them. I actually just sold a Michael Kors sandals for $15, and had to ask a friend how shipping works.  In case you are curious, here is a little run down of Poshmark and how it works.

-You download the app, and then you can start listing items from your closet.

-Poshmark will take $2.95 fee for items you sell under $15.  For those over $15, Poshmark takes 20%.  (These are similar to eBay fees, a little bit more, I think, but I could be wrong. I’m not an expert reseller, but if you want higher profits, maybe eBay is better.)

-Poshmark charges a flat $6.95 shipping fee to the buyer. (I think this is a little high since a top or dress is pretty light, but I guess they even out with other heavier items.)

What I like about Poshmark is that you can create a closet full of your items.  Today, I actually listed several items and sold one already. You can also list as much items as you want and will not pay fees until you sell. What I don’t like about Poshmark is that the fees are kind of high, but I guess they are comparable to most reselling apps. I plan on only selling clothes I would probably donate anyway.  When it comes to really high end pieces, like designer purses, I think the fees are too high that I would rather keep my pieces, or possibly sell them on eBay.

Have you heard of Poshmark and what do you think of it?
