I love, love, love living in Los Angeles, Ca. It is one of the few places that if you want, you can snowboard in the morning, go to the sand dunes in the afternoon, and watch the sun set at the beach, all in ONE day. I am not a Los Angeles native by any chance, but when I moved to this bustling metropolitan, I instantly fell in love. It’s so alive and vibrant. I just love living here and will probably stay here or in SoCal.
Los Angeles, because it’s such an amazing place, do receive tons and tons of visitors. There are just countless things to do, more than you can fit in a week’s visit.
If you are ever in the area and want to take in some wonderful sites, here are 9 great places to visit in Los Angeles.
1.) Universal Studios – This is seriously like an adult’s playground. Of course the kiddos will love it too, and it’s super fun for everyone. There are fun rides and many, many attractions. Universal CityWalk is right outside, filled with restaurants and shops.
2.) The Getty Museum– who doesn’t want to see a little bit of Monet, Rembrandt or Picasso on their vacations? The Getty Museum is ahhhmazing. Seriously… This museum will take your breath away. Just the shuttle up to the top of the hill where the Getty Museum is located is enough to make you sigh in awe. You will get a magnificent view of the 405, and see an aerial view of the city. And that’s before you even see the architecture of the Getty and the artwork…
3.) Malibu Beach– One of my favorite places to visit in Los Angeles. It’s not as crowded as Santa Monica beach, but it is full of beautiful sand and ocean. Stop by the Malibu Mart for lunch and you may see a celebrity. I went to the Malibu Ralph’s and saw Brooke Burke and Cindy Crawford within 5 minutes. The next week, I saw Yolanda Foster from RHOBH. Of course I told her I love her :)
4.) Old Town Pasadena– Old Town Pasadena is such a quaint little place. It’s more for shopping and waking around, but its absolutely darling.
5.) Hollywood– I don’t usually like to go Hollywood because it is always overflowing with tourists. But if you have never been, it’s worth a look. There is the Hollywood and Highland Mall, and the famous Hollywood Walk of Stars.
6.) Santee Alley Downtown – this place is so LA. Here, you will find every thing like clothes, jewelry, shoes, toys, makeup, for cheap. Beware of counterfeit products. They will also have fake Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and even fake MAC! This is where most stores will purchase their retail merchandise, and when you buy, everything is pretty negotiable.
7.) LA Zoo – The LA Zoo is fun if you like the outdoors and animals. I used to go to LA Zoo just to get a good exercise from the walk. There are many beautiful animals, like the tigesr, pandas, bears, and zebras.
8.) Disneyland -This is my absolute favorite of places to visit in Los Angeles. It is located in Anaheim, about 20 miles from LA, but who cares? This place is amazing!! on a good day, it can take only 20 minutes to get there. I never thought I would be a Disney fanatic, but if you have never been recently, don’t dismiss it. It’s expensive, but totally worth it for the experience. It’s hard to get everything done and seen in one day. There is just no way. I have been about 10 times and still have not seen half of the place. I highly recommend going at least 3 days, or don’t go at all. You will feel stressed and exhausted if you try to fit it all in one day.
9.) Santa Monica Promenade– Fun, especially at night. This is an outdoor shopping center filled with shops, restaurants, right near the beach. During the night, it really comes alive with live performers.
There are so many places to visit in Los Angeles, so why not try some of them?
