Dresses are the easiest to wear, especially those that are solid colors. Leonardo da Vinci once said that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. When it comes to outfits, this is truly the case.

outfit of the dayI used to gravitate towards bold prints and vivid colors, but as I get older, I have come to appreciate the beauty of simple lines and minimalist colors. I love the simplicity of this dress, fitted and classic. I always think that dresses should be flirty and femine, and this dress is that.

outfit of the dayNavy blue is a color I usually stay away from. It reminds me too much of black, which I find drab and boring. I know black can be sophisticated in its simplicity, but when I have dark hair and a black dress, I feel so not myself. I have always loved colors like the vibrant pink or the mint green. Colors just make happy.

outfit of the dayBut in this outfit of the day, I stayed within the dark blue and black hues. And I do like it. Maybe it’s the style of my gladiator sandals that add a little flair. Or my statement necklace that makes this simple dress not so simple. Whatever it is, this outfit of the day makes me happy even though it doesn’t have bright, fun colors.
