It’s easy to neglect our feet, especially during winter when we don’t see them because we end up wearing boots all season long. Unfortunately, it is during the winter season when our feet probably need the most tender loving care. One way to keep our feet soft and beautiful is to use a moisturizing foot scrub a couple of times a week.
In this post, I am going to share a simple, all-natural, homemade foot scrub, using ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen. If you follow my blog, you know that I love all things natural. There are so many chemicals and preservatives in our every day beauty products. Using a few products here and there that is natural and preservative free is definitely a breath of fresh air.
1.) 1/2 cup of coarse, kosher salt
2.) 1/4 cup of avocado oil (olive oil is also fine)
3.) 3-4 drops of teatree oil
4.) a few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
5.) zest of half an orange
Mix all the ingredients in a glass container. I like to add the essential oils at the end until I get the delicious aroma that I want =)
Dampen clean feet with warm water. Scrub a generous amount of the homemade foot scrub until most of the salt has dissolved. Rinse well with warm water and towel dry. (The shower will be slippery after using this scrub so be careful!! )
*please note that caution is always advised when using something new, especially if you have allergies or sensitivity.
