Faux flowers for the home

Flowers brighten up the home like no other, and though fresh flowers would be ideal,  I can’t afford to have them all around my house. Plus the maintenance itself will be time consuming and quite a hassle.  I often incorporate fresh flowers here and there with faux flowers for the home.  Faux or fake flowers are the easiest, though not necessarily the cheapest way, way to bring florals into the home.  Because I like to have these beauties in my home, I try to pick faux flowers that are pretty realistic. I learned not to purchase faux flowers arrangement online because pictures can truly be deceiving.  It’s the worst when you find something you love only to be extremely disappointed when they arrive.  And if you’re anything like me, I hate returning things from an online purchase.  I would rather just toss it in a closet than repackage and ship it.

If I must purchase fake flowers arrangement from a store, it will probably be from Ethan Allen or Neiman Marcus– only because I have seen and touched their arrangements and they really look amazing.  They are quite pricey, but I guess for the use you will get out of them, they are worth it.  I have purchased arrangements from amazon and wayfair- and don’t bother.  They are cheap and rightfully so.

Most of my faux flowers for the home decor were made by me.  You can easily find fake flowers from stores like Michaels or Pier1 to make your own custom faux flowers arrangement.  I find that the flowers with soft variations in colors often look the best.  I also like flowers that are often made from fabrics, not plastic.  To create the best faux flowers arrangement, I suggest mixing different types of flowers and leaves.  You can cut them to your desired length.  They also sell acrylic water for flower arrangements from Amazon.  Acrylic water holds your arrangement in place while creating a fresh water look in your vase.
