Clarifying Strawberry Mask Recipe

by Lesley Kim

I usually like to keep fresh berries in my refrigerator, hoping that if they are readily available, I will be more likely to eat them. I usually do eat most of the fresh fruit I buy,  but sometimes, some of these nutritious berries begin to go bad before I can get to them. Instead of trashing these over ripe berries, I like to use them for homemade masks. Now that I am more conscious of my skin, I try to apply a moisturizing or clarifying mask as much as possible. Whether the mask is homemade or store bought, the benefits are always a plus.

 Clarifying Strawberry Mask Recipe

1 ripe strawberry
1 teaspoon honey

Strawberries make an amazing mask because they contain Vitamin C, salicylic acid, and antioxidants. The Vitamin C and antioxidants keep the skin youthful by removing free radicals and damage while the salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and tightens the pores.

Honey is an excellent, all natural ingredient that removes blemishes and acne. Honey has antibacterial and cleansing properties that will leave your skin smooth and clear.

You can reapply a second layer once the first application has dried off. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Apply the rest of the mask to your hands, or discard.
